About

The Emergency Services Cenotaph was founded by Tom Scholes-Fogg in Autumn 2016. The Charity launched in September 2017. It is currently managed by a Chief Executive and a Board of Directors and Trustees.

We are a registered charity in England and Wales (1187751) and Scotland (SC048678) and is registered with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs for Gift Aid.

About the 999 Cenotaph:

2 million people work and volunteer in the emergency services and the NHS – including 250,000 first responders. Whilst there are various monuments dedicated to each of the emergency services, there is no one national monument where the NHS and emergency services are honoured together – a 999 Cenotaph.

We are fundraising to raise at least £3.2 million to build the UK’s first ‘999 Cenotaph’. This important monument is aimed to be located on Whitehall at the heart of Central London, and is being sculpted by Philip Jackson CVO and is supported by HRH The Duke of Cambridge.

20% of the £3.2m we are raising is VAT – we are currently lobbying the Government to waive the VAT on this project given how significant this national monument to our heroes will be. Should the Government waive the VAT then our fundraising target will be £2.56 million.

We can only build this important monument with your donation, so please, donate today and add GiftAid. Our emergency services have been there for us, let’s be there for them.
